About
Yaba Armah is a SABAA Ensemble Award Winner ('21). She was born in Accra, Ghana, and raised on her mother's childhood adventures. From hurling explosive insults in rapid Ga, to hawking flaccid tomatoes at the night market, Yaba grew up on stories that captured the spicy charm of Ghanaians. Her work seeks to reflect that magic back into the world.

Yaba graduated from Wellesley College, Boston ('12) with a Bachelors degree in Economics & French.

She co-authored MoonGirlsGH, an award winning graphic novel series based in Ghana, and has produced five stories, six short films, and one Alliance Francaise nominated animation.
Yaba has been published in SheLeadsAfrica, DramaQueensGH, & AccraTheatreWorkshop.
She is currently writing her debut novel, Oranges and she runs Gh'd Company, a Substack about the process of creating stories.
